As a company comprised mainly of local South Florida talent, we aim to give back to our community at every step of the way. We aspire to present our work to the young and underserved; and in doing so, we hope to inspire the next generation of enthusiasts. Ultimately, our mission is to aid in the development of the South Florida community through the Arts. To that end, we have created the following community initiatives: |

BRIDGING THE GAP – Miami Dade College Studio Theatre Partnership
Beginning in the summer of 2007, Ground Up & Rising joined forces with Miami Dade College to
provide quality theatre education with a strong emphasis on practical application of the theatre Arts. In addition, Ground Up & Rising will support the efforts of outstanding students in pursuing their educational endeavors through the Blueprint Scholarship, which rewards students who display exceptional academic discipline and show promise as future theatre professionals. By nurturing
the work of student artists and writers in the landmark Studio Theatre Partnership, a program
which successfully produced works created by students, Ground Up & Rising continues to fulfill
its commitment to giving local artists opportunities that allow them to apply their talents within
our community.

BEACON PLAY READING Series for
the Miami Lighthouse for the Blind
Since September 2006, Ground Up & Rising has been working with the Miami Lighthouse for the Blind to provide professional readings of new and classic plays free-of-charge to members of the Miami Lighthouse for the Blind.

| “THINKING ON YOUR HEAD, STANDING ON YOUR FEET"
Comedy Improv Show for Kids
A unique, hour-long improvisational comedy performance geared specifically for the enjoyment of child audiences. Following a structured format, our performers will lead audiences on a side-splitting romp through the world of improvisation through a variety of games and scenes that encourage audience participation. Our goal is to empower children by providing them with fun, simple tools that will allow them to take on active roles in a friendly, safe environment which will encourage creativity and stimulate the imagination.

THE BEDROCK PROGRAM – Miami-Dade County
In an unprecedented city-wide outreach effort, Ground Up & Rising is initiating a series of readings for children and adults at various locations throughout Miami-Dade County. This series will include readings of acclaimed storybooks for children by some of the most energetic young talents in the region, as well as professional quality readings of contemporary and classic plays for adults. Performed in a rotating fashion, Ground Up & Rising will be able to benefit a wide range of constituencies while maintaining its commitment to supporting literacy and the Arts in Miami-Dade County.

YEAR-ROUND THEATRE ARTS PROGRAM – ArtSouth
Our organization is proud to begin this groundbreaking relationship with ArtSouth, which will ensure that critically-acclaimed professional theatrical productions and theatre education initiatives can be delivered to an area that is often isolated from a large portion of the South Florida theatre
community due to two factors: geography and economic status. We believe strongly
that distance should not deprive communities of exposure to artistic programming,
the closest professional theatres being nearly 30 miles from the Homestead area.
